begin to do和begin doing都可以。一般来说，begin to do和begin doing可以互换，但在三种情况下用to do。1、主语不是指人，而是it等，如：It began to rain.天开始下雨。2、begin后接表示心理活动的词，如：begin to know/believe/wonder/think等。3、begin本身是ing形式，为避免重复后接to do，即：beginning to do。

begin的现在分词beginning可以在句中作定语或状语。

to begin with作“首先，起初”解，用作插入语，可放在句首、句中，也可放在句末。

begin后一般不加from，且绝对不能接from...to...。

习惯上begin at the beginning和begin from the beginning表达都很普遍，均指“从头开始”。

begin to do和begin doing的区别是：意思不同、后接词不同、强调内容不同。

1、意思不同：begin to do是开始打算要做某事，指事情还未做，准备开始做；begin doing是指开始做某事，表示动作正在进行。

2、后接词不同：begin后接动词不定式表示的动作可以是有意识或无意识的。如:He began topace the room.他开始在房里走来走去。而begin后接动名词通常表示有意识的动作。如:When did you begin learning English?你什么时候开始学英语的?

3、强调内容不同：begin后接动词不定式时多强调新情况的发生，动作是否继续下去则不考虑。如:He is beginning to look old他看起来开始有点老了。接动名词时，对新动作本身注意较多，而且这动作还将持续一段时间。如:They have begun building the house他们已开始建造房子了。
